FELIXSTOWE INFRASTRUCTURE SURCHARGE

We have been advised by the Port of Felixstowe that with effect 2nd April 2007 they will be
introducing a £5.50 charge per laden container on all imported goods through Felixstowe
Port.

The Port of Felixstowe advise this is to be set against an estimated £85 million cost to
upgrade external road and rail links to the Port.  Previously this has been met by Government
funding but legislation now states external infrastructure costs are to be levied directly on to
the industry.

There are no current plans to extend this to export containers and the £5.50 per laden import
container is fixed through to the end of 2008, when it will be reviewed.
The charge will be made to the customs clearing agent, i.e. Teamwork GTS Limited where
we act as direct representatives for you, and this surcharge will be added to your invoice
with the clearance and other associated port costs.

This notice is available to download.
