SEAFREIGHT INDUSTRY RATE CHANGES JANUARY 2010

With effect from the 1st January 2010 the following rate changes will be coming into effect:

BAF rates will range from $455.00 to $574.00 per 20ft container and $910.00 to $1148.00 per 40ft container
CAF rates will range from 11.97% to 14.79% of the total freight value.
There are also the following surcharges applicable dependent on the shipping line used:
EBS(Emergency Bunker Surcharge) $205.00 - $250 / teu
ARS(Gulf of Aden Surcharge)  $20.00 - $46.00 / teu
Suez(Suez Canal Surcharge) $9.00 - $18.00 / teu
GRI(General Rates Increase) $200.00 - $300.00 / teu

Please note that the above rates are applicable for all sailings from the 1st January 2010 and are dependent on the shipping line used.
